Beauty and Biodiversity in a Changing Arctic
This fall, Tara Warkentin, a Cortes Island student, travelled to the Arctic. Through “Schools on Board,” she had the opportunity to learn about this unique ecosystem and the issues it faces. Along with eight other high school students, she boarded the CCGS Amundsen, a research vessel filled with scientists. Lectures, fieldwork and discussions brought science to life. The Arctic is the world’s barometer of climate change. It is vital that we seek an understanding of our North.
Tara will share her experiences with the Cortes community through pictures, video and stories.
