2005 – MEMORIES OF MANSON’S LANDING

(Curated and mounted by Doreen Thompson)

This major exhibit explained 100 years of growth and life in Manson’s Landing from 1880 to 1980.

Highlights were the Hague family bible, the lagoon and landing dock, Cortez Lodge, store, early homestead properties, schools, farming, industry, transportation, airlines and Boat Days.

Carried over from 2004, the display case of bats became an integrated part of the school display with old time attached desks.

The Klahoose artifacts were also carried over from 2004.

The late Nellie Jeffery’s collection of baskets and other First Nation artifacts found on Cortes went on exhibit in the beautiful wood crafted display case by Walter Grundmann, specially made for Nellie’s collection.
