Celebrating 2016 Grant

PTSansNarrow-Grant-2016-long

The Cortes Museum & Archives Society (CIMAS) is pleased to announce that we have received a grant provided by the BC Arts Council and the BC Government. This funding will enable CIMAS to hire a part-time programmer to expand our Community Outreach Program. CIMAS will also be able to provide curatorial training to volunteers interested in developing and creating future exhibits.

In April, CIMAS will post the job description and invite interested individuals to submit resumes.

In September, CIMAS will be looking for committed volunteers to participate in a series of workshops throughout the winter designed to provide the skills necessary to curate and create exhibits.  Participants will receive instruction with practicums under the direction of professional curators, including Cortes resident Judith Williams, UBC Professor Emeritus, artist and author. Details about this exciting learning opportunity will be announced at the end of August.

CIMAS wishes to thank the BC Arts Council and the BC Government for this generous grant which provides much-needed support to our programs.
