2004 – BATS OF CORTES
(Curated by Christian Gronau)
Besides a fragile bat skeleton, this informative exhibit showcased dried bat specimens, some contributed by local felines.
Cortes School students contributed paper bats to hang from the ceiling and on a wall. They also drew bat logos to display. In conjunction with this exhibit, Andy Ellingsen offered Bat House Building in his work shed at his Gunflint Lake property for students. They made their own plus some extras to sell as a Museum fundraiser.
A “Batty Evening” was presented by Bob Chappel, a Victoria naturalist well known for his nest, river and web cams as well as bat cams in attics.
