Marine Alphabet Colouring Book
In 1998, the International Year fo the Ocean, K-3 students from Cortes Island school participated in field trips to Mansons Landing Provincial Marine Park. Marine organisms discovered there inspired THE MARINE ALPHABET.
Forest Alphabet
Artistic vision of A FOREST IN TRUST TO THE CHILDREN. The children of Cortes Island have engaged in a Forest Alphabet initiative to promote the Forest Trust for the children of Cortes Island. The Forest Alphabet contributes a valuable educational component and is presented to the public through the irresistible art work of children inspired by a love of place.

3 Reefs atlas, Northern Salish Sea, BC, Canada, prepared by Friends of Cortes Island as Marine Stewardship Initiative and Sensitive Marine Habitat Mapping Program. The 3 Reef Project was initiated in 2000 and continues into the future, working towards Marine Protected Area (MPA) status for the three reef systems featured here.
