Join local artists in the Museum Heritage Garden as they create original works and explore different mediums, drawing inspiration from the luscious garden landscape. Bring a picnic and your creative spirit. Tuesdays, from noon to 3 p.m.
Our first program is with Jane Newman. Jane practices various visual arts mediums. She loves to explore the natural and wilderness areas in this remote part of the West Coast. In her small studio on Cortes Island she paints (acrylic) and creates mixed media work in an attempt to express the energy of the land. In her outdoor studio/shed she puts together assemblages with the intent to breathe new life into overlooked, discarded and found objects.
