We now operate on spring hours until mid-June: Friday and Saturday, noon to 4 p.m.

 

Cortes Island Museum

Our Main Gallery, 957 Beasley Road, is open now on Friday and Saturday, noon to 4 p.m.

We are home to a Visitor/Tourist Information Booth.

Information items and brochures are available at any time on the outside wall.

Museum’s shop contains unique local arts and books by local authors and topics related to Cortes Island and Discovery Islands.

 

 

Wild Cortes, Natural History Centre at Linnaea Farm 

Wild Cortes, 1255 Seaford Road, is open Friday and Saturday, noon to 4 p.m.

Our main exhibit,  Climate Change: The Cascade Effect., opened in spring, 2022.

Wild Cortes contains the well-loved display of taxidermy curated by taxidermist Laurel Bohart and includes selections from our past natural history exhibits.

In addition to current exhibit, our exhibits include The Cortes Water Cycle: Bluffs, Forests, Wetlands and the Marine Environment, Raven’s Relations: Songbirds on Cortes Island,  “Down Under” Subtidal Biodiversity, BioBlitz, Bats of Cortes Island, Hague Lake, Ecosystem Mapping and Return of the Humpbacks.

 

Our regular summer hours:
Mid-June to September 15, Tuesday to Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (closed Mondays)

Our regular fall/winter/spring hours:
September 15 to Mid-June, Friday and Saturday afternoons, noon to 4 p.m.
